Beyond #GivingTuesday: 52 Causes

Giving definitely deserves a day. We need to take a megaphone to causes people should be paying attention to, creating a stage for them to yell out for support and tell the stories of those they serve.

But a day is not enough, a week isn’t long enough and a month is far too short.

Giving is a 24/7, 365 affair. You don’t just GoFundMe and chill, you commit to the lifestyle. It’s a long-term relationship.

So, starting with Giving Tuesday, we’ll be showcasing a new cause each week for a year. We’ll share their mission, their impact and ways you can get involved.

This week’s cause? Child Advocates. No secret that we’re a huge fan—in fact, we’re throwing a mega party to benefit them and the Houston Food Bank tomorrow night at Warehouse Live!

Child Advocates is spoiler alert, a nonprofit that supports children. By mobilizing court-appointed volunteers who advocate for abused young people lost in the system, the organization helps the most vulnerable in our society and helps them thrive. These volunteers serve as a stable adult who keeps a keen eye on the best interests of the child while they navigate the foster care system. Child Advocates helps break the cycle of abuse and gives young people in the system a fighting chance at a bright future.

To help this worthy organization, you can:

  • Join us for the Care-All Holiday Jam tomorrow night at Warehouse Live. The cost of admission is a gift for a high-school aged young person and canned goods for the Houston Food Bank.
  • Volunteer—they are always looking for advocates and for event volunteers.
  • Donate. Because Giving Tuesday.
