More than a Party, for Party’s Sake

Planning a good party or experience can feel really overwhelming. 

You have to get all the details just right. You have to start months in advance. But—once you get through it, you end up realizing it wasn’t really about the Instagram-worthy decorations or even really the delicious foods. It’s usually the conversation—the small moments in between the “party” that you remember the most. 

How do we move beyond party for party sake and into creating meaningful moments? As Priya Parker says, “The way we gather matters because how we gather is how we live.” Her Ted Talk gives us three steps to do just that, centering us around purpose, good controversy and temporary rules:
