2 billion impressions is great, changing the future with college bound students is better

First impressions matter, right? So what happens after 2 BILLION impressions? We found out with our Michelle Obama’s #CollegeSigningDay partnership this year.

“Going to college is hard work, but every day I meet people whose lives have been profoundly changed by education, just as mine was. My advice to students is to be brave and stay with it. Congratulations to the Class of 2018!#ReachHigher” ~Michelle Obama

Work hard, be brave, never stop learning

As an impact-based agency, it’s hard to see the stopping points in our work when there is SO much change we still want to see in the world. We aim high and work hard—there is always more to fight for, more to champion, more to challenge, more partnerships to build, more minds to connect to, more, more, more.

You’ve already heard about our work with former First Lady Michelle Obama and her Better Make Room initiative, through which we’ve pushed our passion for continued education and inclusive, supportive communities for students.

This national movement continues to push high school students to get #toandthrough college with the support (both logistical and emotional) to tap into the future that they dream of.

But days like 2018’s National College Signing Day… they cause us to pause and delight. To celebrate. To really peer into the incredible generation of students that are already putting their fingerprints on the world around us.

2 billion impressions and 600,000+ students strong

Last year, the #BetterMakeRoom campaign reached 1 billion social impressions—and we danced like no one was watching. That’s an incredible show of solidarity for the college bound high school seniors that are committing to a future of higher learning and personal development—no matter their background or history.

This year, we pushed past 2 BILLION impressions of the content that some of the 600,000 College Signing Day participants created for the world using the #BetterMakeRoom, #CollegeSigningDay and #ReachHigher hashtags.

For a little perspective—2 billion is:

  • A college dream being made every second for the next 60 years
  • Enough $1 bills to stack as high as TWO Empire State Buildings
  • One quarter of the entire human population on planet Earth (all 7.6 billion of us) witnessing and celebrating student dreams

But the impact we make together for #BetterMakeRoom and these students is far more meaningful than a number or metric.

Two billion shows the way that we collectively support college-bound students as they move onward to their incredible futures.  Two billion is a community rallying around its youth regardless of their skin color, religion or socio-economic status.

Two billion means these students will continue #BeatingTheOdds, no matter their circumstances. As 40resilient students gather with Mrs. Obama at Twitter’s DC headquarters to discuss the tips and tricks for college success, we know that the fight for the future is in good hands.

We believe in the power of education, the brilliant futures of over 600,000 students and the sheer force of 2 billion.
