GIF US YOUR BEST SHOT: A Challenge To Be The Next Black Sheep

So, you think you want to be a Black Sheep? Well, we can’t say that we blame you. This is a pretty great place to work. We work hard, we play hard and we’ve built a culture that’s like no other you’ll find.

We’re hiring a Brand Manager. Our Brand Managers like to stay specialized—in this case, we need a Brand Manager who’s a social media master. Things to keep in mind: we’re looking for peeps who’ve gained 3+ years of experience in an agency setting, who have developed creative campaigns and ad-buy strategies and who have created some damn-good, engaging content. 

We’re huge believers of GIFs being an art form. Their looping, magical wonder keeps us entranced.

So we’ve put together a challenge. A request. An appeal, if you will. In order to skip to the front of the consideration line as an applicant to be a Black Sheep Brand Manager, get our attention by replying to each of the five prompts below with the most appropriate GIF you can find.

These questions are important to check and see if you’re the right fit. We’re sticklers for qualified candidates!

Do you have agency experience?

Do you love to write—enough so that you’d label yourself a writer? Do you feel like  you can write pretty much anything—whip up a headline in a matter of seconds, burrow in to write longer form content that shines from start to finish? Can you change your “voice” on a dime?

Are you a self-starter? A figure-it-outer? A person who asks the right questions in order to take control of the situation and get things done? Do you have experience managing client projects and thinking strategically?

Do you have experience with social media—from campaign concepting to content generation? Do you keep up with the latest algorithms, ad strategies and trends? Have you created social media ad buy strategies?

Each of our Brand Managers carries a specialized focus or area of expertise. We employ Brand Managers that focus on Community Outreach, Media Relations and Social Media. This position requires a specialization in social media. Please consider this requirement when responding to this posting.

While it’s hard to define the exact experience necessary, we are hoping to find someone that meets the requirements below—or someone who can prove to us that the experiences they’ve had trump what we came up with below. So, GO FOR IT.

  • College education relevant to the position (PR, marketing, advertising, communications or similar degree)
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in which you have written for brand initiatives, met aggressive deadlines and driven projects, preferably at an agency
  • Strong, concise, creative writing skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Advanced communication skills, including both written (documents and presentations) and interpersonal communication skills
  • Confidence to successfully present program recommendations and strategy to clients
  • Ability to handle managing 10-12 projects simultaneously, while maintaining your cool

We’re a team that thrives in an ever-changing environment. Expect to get familiar with the term “pivot,” even if you don’t watch Silicon Valley. Some of the predictable responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, developing, executing and presenting comprehensive brand strategies as part of a collaborative team.
  • Overseeing day-to-day production on client social media and digital accounts.
  • Developing social media media buy strategies and plans.
  • Implementing a brand voice and personality that is tailored specifically to each client.
  • Creating and managing production schedules and deadlines.
  • Proactive opportunity monitoring and providing strategic counsel to clients to consistently introduce new ideas and approaches.
  • Working hand-in-hand with other team members to ensure exceptional quality on all communication distributed by the agency.
  • Heavily contributing to the Black Sheep brand presence.
