This Wall Not Intentionally Left Blank
This wall is blank. It’s nondescript. It’s plain. But not for long. Soon it won’t even be a wall anymore—it will be a flashpoint for connecting people with causes.
It will be art.
A mural.
Something to get people talking.
Even better, it will be something that gets people doing.
When we thought about how we could make a contribution on Giving Tuesday, we decided that a one-time donation wasn’t going to do the trick. So we’re going big and staying true to our mission of shocking, awing and accelerating impact. Starting with this blank wall.
Over the next few months, The Black Sheep Agency will be producing a series of “GIVE” murals throughout the Houston area. To us, these murals are an investment in our city’s culture and an opportunity to motivate others to make Houston an even better place to live. No matter how much you give or how much time you have, there is some way each of us can fill our community’s gaps with goodness. It’s about using that blank space for giving back where it matters most—where you live. And about celebrating Giving Tuesday 365 days a year.
Created by local artist Wiley Robertson in conjunction with UP Art Studio, each mural will encourage visitors to snap and share photos as a pledge of support for Houston-based causes. But, more importantly, we hope they will ignite a viral conversation that connects public art to a greater conversation about making a contribution in our community.
Giving Tuesday isn’t the end. It’s the beginning. And we’re not stopping until the blank spaces are filled with possibility. How will you #GiveHOU?
