Digital Analyst Job Description

You will help support the digital architecture of our agency—driving analytics, reporting, paid and channel growth. Insights? KPIs? Metrics? You got them. But you’re also helping build the big picture for digital growth and success. You understand that creativity and data must work hand-in-hand.

What does that mean for your day-to-day? You will be…

  • Monitoring and analyzing digital (social, web, email) metrics in a qualitative and quantitative fashion and constantly amending strategies based on discoveries and patterns.
  • Regularly reporting to clients on results with tangible insights for optimization and growth.
  • Developing, supervising and analyzing tests to increase performance outcomes and drive and change behaviors.
  • Researching and investigating new digital tools to evolve our digital offering and point of view.
  • Developing and executing comprehensive social media and digital strategies and presenting those strategies to clients and stakeholders.
  • Guiding the digital implementation of brand voices and personalities that are tailored specifically to each client and each channel.
  • Providing strategic counsel to clients to consistently introduce new ideas and approaches. Then, implementing and educating internal staff and existing/prospective clients on these new digital tools and technologies.
  • Overseeing day-to-day production on client social media and digital accounts and coaching clients where necessary to preserve creative integrity and improve outcomes.
  • Developing/implementing digital advertising strategies. Working hand-in-hand with other team members to ensure exceptional quality on all digital strategy and communication distributed by the agency.
  • Teaching our team about new tools and trends as well as coaching the team on client outcomes in order to evolve and strengthen in-progress strategies.

Why is this role important for Black Sheep’s work?

As a Digital Analyst, you are someone who sees numbers like the way a pianist looks at sheet music. You know that each and every digital move we make can create harmony or set things out of tune. When your bottom line is activating people around things that matter and big change is at stake, the data tells us how far we’ve come and how far we still have to go. Your role helps to determine what everyone else in the agency needs to do next.

  • Advanced communication skills, including both written (documents and presentations) and interpersonal communication skills
  • Confidence and poise to successful present creative to clients
  • Ability to handle managing 6-10 projects simultaneously, while maintaining your cool

Key Areas of Mastery

  • Identifying emerging trends and demonstrating proficiencies in digital channels. • Maintaining and employing measurement and analytics. You track metrics and manage digital reports for our agency and our clients so we can always have a test, learn and apply mentality in real time. Beyond translating this information into useful insights that drive new strategy, you know how to translate complex information to clients to prove results, drive decisions and create success.
  • Embracing holistic digital strategy. You are the captain of effectiveness in all digital areas and have a rich understanding of the entire digital landscape from email to web, paid to social and  you can speak to in-the-moment statistics, trends, behaviors and platforms.
